Title: Creative Director · Graphic Designer · Artist
Location: Annapolis, Maryland
Expertise: Graphic Communications · Brand Identity · Interior Art
Currently: B.A. Graphic Communication - University of Maryland Global Campus

Jannifer “Janna” Williams is a Creative Director, Graphic Designer, and Artist with more than 15 years of experience across branding, graphic communications, publications, marketing, digital and print design, interior visualization, murals, and original art. She enjoys taking an idea—whether complex information, a brand, or a physical space—and finding the clearest and most visually engaging way to bring it to life.

Her love for art began as a child in Houston when her father handed her a piece of paper with a few unfinished lines and simply said, “Finish the lines.” That early curiosity grew into a lifelong creative career. When she’s not designing or painting, Janna is usually decorating, exploring art and interiors, planning her next trip, or spending time at home in Annapolis with her husband, three children, four cats, and two dogs.

Highlights

Creative Range:
I’ve spent more than 15 years working across graphic communications, branding, publications, marketing, murals, art, and interior visualization. My career has taken me through government, nonprofit, arts, publishing, corporate communications, and independent client work — which is probably why I’ve never been very good at staying in just one creative lane.

A Career Project I’m Proud Of:

At the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, I developed brand standards for color, typography, and logo use across print and digital communications. I also designed publications, web concepts, marketing graphics, and the 2016 Honor Awards brochure, which was produced in more than 300 copies. I loved taking complex information and finding ways to make it clear, organized, and visually engaging.

The Place That Changed My Eye:
Florence. Studying there surrounded by Renaissance art, architecture, history, and incredible use of light changed the way I looked at design. I came home noticing spaces, proportions, color, and architectural details in a completely different way — and I still do

.

What I’ll Notice Before Everyone Else:
The picture hanging slightly crooked. The color that is almost right but not quite. The empty corner of a room that needs something. Or the paragraph that could have been three sentences shorter. I can’t help it — details follow me everywhere.

My Very Full House:
I live in Annapolis with my husband, our three children, four cats, and two dogs. I love animals, art, fashion, interiors, architecture, travel, music, decorating, and entertaining. With six pets in the house, there is also no shortage of creative directors supervising my work.

Experience

Jannifer Williams has more than 15 years of experience across graphic communications, branding, publications, marketing, visual storytelling, and creative design. Her career has included work in government, nonprofit, publishing, arts, corporate communications, and independent client projects. She has created hundreds of visual communication pieces for the U.S. Department of Commerce, along with infographics, publications, campaigns, brand identities, event materials, social media, murals, and interior visualization projects.

I’ve never wanted to be limited to one creative category. I love figuring out how something should communicate — whether I’m looking at a page, a brand, a room, or a piece of art. The medium may change, but my thinking is always about clarity, balance, and what will make the idea connect with people.

Education

Jannifer is currently continuing her education at the University of Maryland Global Campus, building on more than a decade of professional creative experience. Her broader creative studies have included illustration, fine art, interior design, and art history, including study in Florence that strengthened her appreciation for architecture, space, color, and visual storytelling.

About Her Work

Jannifer’s portfolio reflects a career that has never stayed in one lane. It brings together graphic communications, brand identity, interior visualization, murals, and original art — disciplines connected by her curiosity about how people see, understand, and experience the world around them.

From simplifying complex information to imagining how a room could feel, her approach is grounded in one idea:

Make it clear. Make it meaningful. Make it memorable.
